Sulphuric Acid
Sulphuric acid is one of the most important products in the inorganic basic chemical manufacturing industry. Bulk consumers are the petroleum industry, iron and steel industry as well as manufacturers of dye and textile fibres. The amount of sulphuric acid used in the fertiliser industry has enormously decreased but nevertheless still plays a pivotal part. In addition, the acid is used in gas drying.
Sulphuric acid is available in the following concentrations:
- sulphuric acid of approx. 96%, specific gravity: 1.840;
- sulphuric acid of approx. 78%, specific gravity: 1.710;
- battery acid of approx. 20-50%, specific gravity: 1.200-1.400;
as well as various specific concentrations. Each grade is based on DIN 43 530 (part 1 + 2) and DIN EN 899.
