Ranging from wastewater treatment to ultrapure water production, e.g. in the electronics industry, through utilisation in the metal industry up to use in the food and pharmacology industry, hydrochloric acid finds widespread use.

Depending on the purpose of utilisation, various grades from the following manufacturing processes are available:

• sulphate hydrochloric acid from the Mannheim furnace process;
• by-products from chemical processes within the chemical industry.

Each grade is based on DIN EN 939.
